The right Wi-Fi router depends on the size of your home, the number of users and how heavily you use the internet. There are many models on the market, but a few criteria are enough to choose the right one. The floor-area ranges below are a general guide; wall construction and the number of floors can change the result.
Small Homes and Apartments (50–100 m²)
Compact routers with Wi-Fi 6 support are usually sufficient. Dual-band models (2.4GHz + 5GHz) are often enough for everyday use. Example: NETGEAR Nighthawk RAX10.
Mid-Sized Homes (100–200 m²)
Tri-band routers or mesh systems are a better fit. The connection stays more stable in multi-level layouts and areas with thick walls. Example: Orbi RBK752.
Large Homes and Villas (over 200 m²)
Mesh systems with Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 support should be preferred. Because the 6GHz band is less crowded, you are less affected by neighboring networks. Example: Orbi 960 Series (Wi-Fi 6E); for Wi-Fi 7, the Orbi 870 and 970 series.
